Clayton Kershaw takes the ball for the Dodgers on getaway day Thursday afternoon against the Rockies at Coors Field in Denver.

Kershaw has a 4.64 ERA in 27 career starts at Coors Field, his highest ERA for any ballpark he’s pitched at more than once. Eight of those 27 starts in Denver were day games, during which Kershaw has a 7.11 ERA, but the Dodgers won five of those eight games. Only one of those daytime starts came after 2015.

In his last start at Coors Field, Kershaw pitched six scoreless innings back in 2023.

Left-hander Austin Gomber makes the start for Colorado, making his third start since returning from a left shoulder injury. Gomber’s first two starts were polar opposites, with five scoreless innings in Atlanta on June 15, then nine runs allowed in 4⅔ innings on June 20 at home against the Diamondbacks.
