Following a couple of sizeable wins, the Detroit Tigers open up a three-game series against the rival Minnesota Twins on Friday night.
Though the Tigers were surprisingly shut out by the Athletics on Wednesday, they responded with a solid 8-0 on Thursday night to take the series, giving them momentum heading into a key divisional matchup this weekend.

The Tigers have won three of their last four games, having won back-to-back series at Comerica Park. They are flexing their offensive muscle with the All-Star talent throughout the lineup, with a pitching staff that has been fairly stable.
The Twins looked like they were going to be a team that was going to compete with Detroit for first place in the American League Central. Yet, a rough start to the month of June saw them stumble down the standings, despite splitting a four-game set with the Seattle Mariners.
The Tigers are first in the Central, 9.5 games up on the Cleveland Guardians. The Twins sit in third, 11.5 back of Detroit.
