The Brewers have been playing strongly over the last week and a half. They’ve won seven of their previous eight games. They are two games behind the Cubs in the NL Central and currently have the second Wild Card spot. They will try to build on that more in game two against the Rockies this afternoon.
Quinn Priester is back on the mound for this afternoon’s start. While he’s been good for five to six innings in most of his starts, his last one was rough. He only pitched 3 1⁄3 innings and allowed three runs against the Twins. Before that, the last time he had allowed three runs in one of his starts was back on June 19, when he allowed three runs to the Orioles. This will be the first time he has faced the Rockies in his career.
Meanwhile, the Brewers are familiar with Rockies’ starter Antonio Senzatela. This is the eighth time he will start against the Brewers in his career. The Brewers faced him once this season, back on April 9. He allowed nine runs (eight earned) in 4 1⁄3 innings. The Brewers ended up winning that game 17-2. Playing at Coors Field may have influenced that, and he has had better career stats at American Family Field. In four previous starts in Milwaukee, he’s posted a 3.32 ERA. However, he’s also allowed at least two runs in each of his last three starts here.
The lineup remains mostly the same from yesterday’s win. Jake Bauers gets a start in left field while Isaac Collins gets a day off. Brice Turang moves up to the fifth spot in the lineup, and Bauers takes the seventh spot.
Here are the lineups for tonight’s game. First pitch is set for 3:10 p.m. CT and will be on FanDuel Sports Wisconsin and the Brewers Radio Network.
