DUBOIS — The DuBois Little League All-Star baseball team put itself in the driver’s seat in the District 10 Tournament Saturday afternoon, finishing of an undefeated run to the championship game with a convincing 13-0, 4-inning victory against Bradford at Way Memorial Field.

DuBois continued to get strong pitching, posting its second shutout in four games as the duo of Jordan Lockett and Mason Blasco combined to throw a two-hit shutout. DuBois has allowed just two runs total in its four games.

Lockett did most of the heavy lifting on the mound, working the first three innings to get the win. He gave p one hit while striking out four and walking a pair. Blasco finished off the game with a scoreless fourth, giving up a hit while walking one.

The duo were backed by an offense that churned out 10 hits in three innings, with eight different DuBois players recording a hit and 10 different scoring a run.

Rocco Morelli and Ryan Mitchell each had two hits and two RBIs to lead that attack, with Morelli ripping two doubles and Mitchell one. Blasco and Owen Bundy each collected a hit and two RBIs, while Alex Hughes added a RBI double.

With the win, DuBois earned a couple extra days off and hosts the District 10 championship game on Wednesday.

Bradford dropped into the loser’s bracket with the setback and hosts Punxsutawney on Monday to see who will battle DuBois for the title. Punxsy knocked off Potter/McKean, 7-2, on Saturday to stay alive in the tournament.

Lockett enjoyed a quiet top of the first. Bradford’s Magnus Miller did draw a two-out walk, but was promptly thrown out trying to take second on a pitch to the backstop by catcher Bundy.

DuBois then got all the offense it needed with a four-run bottom of the first.

Morelli jump-started the inning with a leadoff double, then Hank Benton and Landon Liddle drew walks to load the bases with no outs.

Lockett singled home Morelli, while Blasco plated Benton on a groundout to make it 2-0. Bundy then capped the big opening inning with a single to center that brought home Liddle and Blasco for that 4-0 advantage.

Bradford tried to answer back in the second as Kohen Pantuso reached on a leadoff error and Mason Haynoski beat out an infield single. Lockett halted any thoughts of a rally there though, as he fielded a comebacker off the bat of Jameis Furlong to end the inning.

DuBois then added to its lead in the bottom of the second, loading the bases with one out on a Mitchell leadoff single and walks by Hughes and Cam Gasbarre. That free pass to Gasbarre rolled over the lineup to Morelli, who ripped a double to left to score both Mitchell and Hughes for 6-0 lead.

DuBois then broke the game wide open with a seven-run bottom of the fourth to out the 10-run mercy rule into play.

Lockett opened the frame with a walk, then took second on a wild pitch before scoring on a single to right by Blasco. A walk by Bundy spelled the end for reliever Miller.

Bradford turned to Furlong on the mound, and he was greeted rudely by DuBois as Atley Palumbo and Everett Reiter hit back-to-back RBI singles. Mitchell then ripped a two-run double to left-center before scoring on a Hughes double to center.

Hughes later scored DuBois’ 13th and final run on a steal of home as part of a double-steal that saw Colten Michaux, who reached on an error, thrown out at second.

Blasco then relieved Lockett in the fourth and worked a Eli Haynoski walk Miller double with on out to preserve the shutout.
