YORK – The Norfolk Golden Girls Koch 18U team could not keep up with Nebraska National – Taylor 16U, following 4-0 yesterday.

Nebraska National got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Norfolk Golden Girls committed an error, and Hayden Peters (2028) singled to center field, each scoring a run.

Nebraska National would score two more runs in the bottom of the fifth on a home run to left field by Maizey Carpenter (2026).

Chloe Cannon (2026) earned the win for Nebraska National, allowing no runs on two hits with a walk and five strikeouts over five innings of work.

Rory Vrbsky took the loss for Norfolk, giving up four runs (two earned) with seven hits with three walks and a strikeout over 4.2 innings worked.

Brynn Peterson and Gracie Koch each collected one hit for Norfolk, while the defense turned one double play in the game.

Carpenter drove the middle of the lineup, leading Nebraska National with two runs batted in. Ollie Songster (2027) went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Nebraska National in hits.
