The Tigers are coming off a series win over their divisional rival, the Minnesota Twins. Tarik Skubal led the team to a 3-0 victory on Sunday Night Baseball to secure the series victory, striking out 13 and allowing just one hit.

The Nationals defeated the Los Angeles Angels 7-4 on Sunday to take the series. Shortstop CJ Abrams led the team with 3 RBI in the win.

Detroit is the clear frontrunner in the American League Central division and the last series gave them even more breathing room. The second-place Cleveland Guardians are 11.5 games back and the third-place Twins are 12.5 games back.
