MLB:
In Phoenix, the Giants took an early lead with a Willy Adames homer, but the Diamondbacks bats exploded for four home runs, taking down San Francisco 8-2. They have now lost seven of their last eight sliding to 45-40, sitting 8 games back in the NL West. The 4 game series continues tonight against the Diamondbacks, starting at 6:40 PM.
It was a tough night for the Mariners, as they fell to Kansas City 6-3. Despite a Randy Arozarena homer, defensive miscues and stranded runners cost the M’s. Cal Raleigh struggled, striking out four times. The Mariners dropped 44-41, second in the AL West, 7 games behind the Astros. They’ll look to bounce back tomorrow against the Royals at 6:40
COLLEGE BASKETBALL:
The Oregon and Gonzaga men’s basketball teams have their opponents for the Players Era Festival. The Ducks will play Auburn and San Diego State, while the Bulldogs will battle Alabama and Maryland. The teams will then play a third game determined by the results of the first two days of tournament play. The event will take place Thanksgiving week in Las Vegas with $1 million going to the winning team.
MLS:
The Timbers are improving their facilities. The club announced that it has purchased land around its current training facility with the aim of expanding it by next year. Among the upgrades will be a second grass field, a viewing deck to watch outdoor practices and an indoor practice surface.
LOCAL:
The Elks held off the Sweets 11 – 9 last night to start the series with a win. Game two against Walla Walla is tonight. (First pitch from Vince Genna is 6:35)
