Hello everyone, I’m Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk.
The St. Louis Cardinals just wrapped up a series to forget in Pittsburgh.
In our Cardinals Nation update.
The Pirates swept St. Louis in the three game series.
And to make matters worse, Pittsburgh’s pitching staff shut out St. Louis in all three games.
It’s the first time in a decade that the Cardinals were shut out in a three game series.
To be fair, St. Louis played Wednesday’s afternoon game without Willson Contreras and Nolan Arenado.
Those two were nursing injuries.
St. Louis’ toothless offense also spoiled effective pitching performances from Andre Pallante and Sonny Gray.
Pallante threw one hit ball through seven innings Tuesday.
Gray was looking good through six innings Wednesday before he ran out of gas.
The Cardinals left 23 runners on base in the Pirate series.
The good news for St. Louis is that the Cardinals have Thursday off to reset.
The bad news is that the Cardinals will go to Wrigley Field to play the first place Cubs.

And I’ll see you then.
