Soto was announced to be one of three outfielders on MLB’s June Team of the Month, along with Byron Buxton and Ronald Acuña Jr.
Soto slashed .322/.474/.722 in the month of June, with an absurd 11 home runs, tying his August 2020 career-high for one month and joined Darryl Strawberry as the only Mets player in history with 10+ homers and 20+ walks in a month.

Soto failed to make the All-Star Game this year, and finished fifth in voting among NL outfielders, behind Acuña, along with Cubs stars Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker. Dodgers star Teoscar Hernandez finished ahead of him as the fourth-place finisher.
Soto’s announcement follows a month where he has certainly played to his contract value, and has captivated Mets fans who are excited to see their marquee star swinging a hot bat.
