MLB’s Bold Proclamation About Ronald Acuna Jr. Is Turning Heads originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Ronald Acuna Jr. is making a fantastic return after nearly a year away from the field. In May 2024, he suffered a leg injury that turned out to be a torn ACL, ending his season.

Fast forward to May 2025, just three days short of the one-year anniversary of the injury, and Acuna returned to action. Since then, he has been on fire for the Atlanta Braves. Despite the team’s struggles — the Braves are 10 games under .500 and sitting in fourth place in the NL East — Acuna’s performance has stood out.

On Sunday, MLB posted his stats with the caption:

“Ronald Acuña Jr. Since Coming Back Is Must-See.”

That line got fans talking.

Mentioned by this fan: “Acuna has come back better!!!!!”

@RedSox PLEASE,” begged this commenter.

In this post here, the commenter bashes the team, despite the great results from their star: “4th place Braves.”

“3rd best player in baseball when healthy,” posted by this fan.

Through 39 games since his return, Acuna is hitting .333 with nine home runs and 18 RBIs. His timing, power and confidence at the plate show he’s back to form.

Atlanta, however, has dropped three straight games, including a tough extra-inning loss at home to the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday. The Braves are just 2-8 in their last 10 games.

They’ll finish the series against the Orioles on Sunday before heading west for a road trip against the Oakland Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, leading into the All-Star break.
