Prior to Saturday night’s game, the Texas Rangers activated outfielder Wyatt Langford from the 10 day injured list. To make room for him on the active roster, the Rangers optioned infielder Justin Foscue to AAA Round Rock.
Langford was expected to miss just the minimum 10 days while he was on the injured list, and Saturday was the first day he could return, so his being activated was expected. On the season he is slashing .233/.311/.420, and has a 2.0 bWAR.
Foscue, meanwhile, returns to Round Rock, having gotten into three games during the time he was up. Foscue was recalled on June 21 when Jake Burger was placed on the injured list, and got a total of six play appearances in his two weeks in the majors. On the plus side for Foscue, he doubled his last time up, breaking his 0 for 44 major league hitless streak.
