The Pierrefonds Blue Expos held off the final at bat advances of the Dollard Dodgers to claim a 14-13 victory in Lac St. Louis Baseball 9U B play at Brook Park. The home side Expos owned the lead from the home half of the first, but the pesky Dodgers kept nipping at the Expos heels in a game where both sides swung hot bats. Dollard rallied from a four-run deficit of 14-10 in their last licks to make it a one run game but just missed out on pushing the equalizer across the plate. Dollard rapped out a total 26 hits while the Expos stroked out 22 hits with five going for extra-bases.

Pierrefonds held a 4-3 edge following the first then extended the lead to 8-5 and 11-6 in the second and third frames. Heading into the top of the fifth, the Expos saw their 14-10 lead dwindle to a single run but survived the comeback bid by the Dodgers to log the win.

Charlie Muroff was a constant at the plate for the visiting Dodgers as he went 4-for-4, scoring all four times he was on base and chipped in with two runs batted in. Three of Muroff’s hits were extra-base efforts as he lashed out a triple and two doubles. Noah Shapiro also went 4-for-4 and cracked a pair of doubles for the Dodgers. Morty Lazare was perfect in his five plate appearances with a quartet of singles and one two-bagger.

Leadoff hitter Vladimir Peter propelled the Expo attack with four hits in his plate appearances, the first two hits going for triples. Peter had a pair of rbi’s and scored once. Emilio Bucchianico added a double and a homer to the Pierrefonds’ run total. Bucchianico scored three times and earned two rbi’s to the cause. Timely hitting by Noah Leroux allowed him to pick-up a pair of ribbies. n
