The Los Angeles Dodgers and the San Diego Padres do not like each other.
This isn’t breaking news considering the rivalry that’s ensued over the last handful of years. Despite the Dodgers generally controlling things for much of their head-to-head battle with the Friars, it hasn’t stopped those in San Diego from constantly chirping at big brother up north in Los Angeles.

This year, the theatrics have been raised even further. Padres outfielder Fernando Tatis Jr. and Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages have both been hit multiple times by opposing pitchers. Shohei Ohtani was also plunked in a move the Dodgers did not appreciate. From dust-ups to verbal hatred and the like, Major League Baseball must be wishing that these two squads face one another in the playoffs yet again this season.
Speaking of Tatis Jr., the energetic player was mic’d up during a during a recent Sunday Night Baseball contest versus the Texas Rangers. Tatis Jr. was asked a question by one of the fans sent into the broadcast booth.
The fan wanted to know which other parks (aside Petco Park) that Tatis Jr. enjoyed playing at.
Fernando what are your favorite ballparks to play in? “Definitely not Dodger Stadium”
Dude has a .942 OPS with 12 HR there. Total shot at that fan base and I love it pic.twitter.com/0glygQAVrl

Without skipping a beat, Tatis Jr. remarked that he enjoys playing at CITI Field (home of the New York Mets). He then ended the question with the response that he “definitely [does] not [enjoy] Dodger Stadium.”
Some may view this as good-natured ribbing. Others may take this as a shot at the Dodgers and its fan base. Realistically, it’s probably somewhere in the middle given Tatis Jr.’s charisma and past history with playing the Dodgers.
While members of the team in Los Angeles probably won’t take what Tatis Jr. said too seriously, those who attend the games might view the slight a bit differently. The faithful in Chavez Ravine are already particularly prickly when it comes to the Padres.
This minor clip may be further fuel added to the fire for when these two squads face off next at the end of August.
