CINCINNATI (WKRC) – The Major League Baseball All-Star Game has been around since 1933 and on Thursday evening Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz became just the second shortstop in team history to record a feat in the 92 years since the game began.

According to the Reds, when De La Cruz singled in the first inning of the Reds 6-0 win over the Miami Marlins at Great American Ball Park he became just the second primary shortstop in franchise history since the All-Star Game has been played to record 100 hits before the All-Star break.

The other primary shortstop to accomplish the feat was Hall of Famer Barry Larkin.

De La Cruz added another single in the sixth inning.
