Were Detroit Tigers snubbed for 2025 MLB All-Star Game?
On “Days of Roar,” Evan Petzold — joined by Scott Bentley of “Locked On Tigers” — breaks down Detroit Tigers players in the 2025 MLB All-Star Game.
Storm clouds will just not leave the Detroit Tigers alone.
Game 2 of the Tigers’ series against the Seattle Mariners at Comerica Park on Saturday, July 12 was hit with a rain delay before the game even started, something the Tigers have gotten used to this summer.
The Tigers announced the rain delay on social media at 12:30 p.m., 40 minutes before the scheduled first pitch.
After about an hour delay, the crew started working on taking the tarp off the field and the game is set to restart at approximately 2:45 p.m.
The Tigers and Mariners were able to avoid some storms that looked possible on Friday, but the Weather Gods didn’t wait long to strike back, forcing a delay the next day.
After losing a rare Tarik Skubal start on Friday, the Tigers will have newly-named All-Star Casey Mize on the mound trying to snap a brief two-game losing streak.
The Mariners, meanwhile, have right-handed pitcher George Kirby on the mound for the second game of the series.
The good news for both teams is the game was delayed before the start, so it did not mess with the pitchers’ rhythm or how long they’re able to pitch.
