For the second consecutive year, the MLB Futures Game did not feature a pitcher who touched 100 mph.

That’s notable because from 2017—when pitch tracking was first implemented—through 2023, at least one pitcher reached triple digits in every Futures Game. Hunter Greene holds the event’s velocity record with a 103.1 mph fastball in 2018, and in total, 11 different pitchers have topped 100 mph in the game since 2017.
