Sean Barnard gives his top DraftKings MLB Pick6 plays and projections for today’s MLB slate.
All 30 teams are in action across today’s Sunday MLB slate. One of the more unique ways to get in on the action, and one of the newest features on DraftKings, is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for today’s action, 7/13/25. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage set, here are my favorite picks on today’s MLB slate.
Juan Soto More Than 0.5 Home Runs
The Mets will face the Royals with Noah Cameron on the mound. This will mark just his 12th career start. While the 25-year-old is posting a 2.56 ERA across his first 63.1 innings pitched, he has given up seven home runs in this stretch.
After a bit of a slow start to his Mets tenure, Juan Soto has returned to being one of the best hitters in baseball. The four-time All-Star is slashing .265/.400/.515 on the season and is up to 23 home runs on the year. He has three home runs over the past two weeks with a .317 batting average. Soto is also hitting .265 with a .809 OPS against left-handed pitching this year.
Now he’ll have a chance to capitalize on the Royals’ bullpen if Cameron is chased early. Kansas City’s bullpen is posting a collective 3.5 ERA with 36 home runs allowed on the year. Soto has hit a home run in each of the first two games of this series, and look for him to build off this by putting one over the fence again today.

Christian Yelich More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
Perhaps the best matchup spot is in favor of the Brewers today as they face the Nationals with Jake Irvin on the mound. Irvin is posting the second-highest hard hit rate on the slate at 47.6%, and the worst barrel rate at 13%. The 28-year-old is allowing 1.78 home runs per nine innings, giving up 20 overall on the season. 13 of these have also come to left-handed hitters.
Enter Christian Yelich, who has woken up after a slow start to the year. On the season overall, he is slashing .260/.339/.460 with 19 home runs and 65 RBIs. But since the start of June, the former MVP is slashing .306/.381/.524 with seven home runs and 26 RBIs coming across this stretch. Yelich has faced Irvin nine times in his career, going 4-for-7 with two doubles and a pair of walks. He has two RBIs already in this series, and this is his friendliest pitching matchup yet.

Tyler Soderstrom More Than 1.5 Total Bases
It has been a frustrating overall season for the Athletics, but Tyler Soderstrom has been a huge bright spot. The 23-year-old is shaping into a foundational piece of the franchise, and the Athletics have made a clear effort to get him more at-bats by shifting his position on the field. Soderstrom is slashing .262/.340/.455 with 17 home runs and 54 RBIs on the year.
Right-handed pitcher Jose Berrios will get the start for the Blue Jays in this matchup, who enters with a 3.53 ERA across his first 112.1 innings pitched. Soderstrom is slashing .273/.364/.506 against right-handed pitching this year, with 16 of his 17 home runs coming against righties. He has 21 total bases across his past six games, with yesterday’s 0-for-4 performance being an outlier. Count on him to get back on track today and tally more than 1.5 total bases.

Ketel Marte More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Ketel Marte has battled through some injuries this year, with a groin issue last week being the latest problem. But when he has been on the field, he has been productive and I expect this to continue today. Marte is slashing .290/.394/.567 while posting a .961 OPS this season, which is the second-highest rate of his career. Since June started, he is slashing .302/.395/.590 with 11 home runs, 27 RBIs, and 82 total bases across this stretch.
Jose Soriano is getting the start for the Angels. The right-hander enters with a 6-6 record and a 4.00 ERA across his first 19 starts. Marte is slashing .310/.417/.614 with a 1.031 OPS against right-handed pitching this year. 15 of his 19 home runs have come against righties, with 105 of his 143 total bases coming in these matchups. The Angels’ bullpen is also posting a collective 5.08 ERA with an MLB-worst 55 home runs allowed this season. Marte has tallied more than 1.5 total bases in three of his last four games.

Trea Turner to Record More Than 0.5 Singles
This is the first season that Trea Turner has looked like the $300 million man the Phillies believed they signed three offseasons ago. Turner is leading the National League in hits and slashing .291/.344/.436. The power numbers have been down, with the three-time All-Star only tallying 11 home runs and his slugging percentage being below his career average. But Turner has been a singles machine with 27 across his past 25 games.
Nick Pivetta will draw start for the Padres and enters with a 3.07 ERA on the season. Turner has faced Pivetta 21 times in his career, with five hits tallied. He has 16 hits across his past 14 games and has been more of a true leadoff hitter this year for the Phillies. Philadelphia dropped the opening two games of this series in fairly frustrating fashion. Turner will look get in on the action early by notching another single today.

Cristopher Sanchez More Than 4.5 Strikeouts
Cristopher Sanchez will make his final start before the All-Star game after being the most obvious snub across Major League Baseball. While there is some he-said-she-said between Sanchez’s representation about whether he was invited and if pitching today disqualified him, Sanchez has been an All-Star caliber pitcher for the second straight season.
This will be his last opportunity before the break to provide a reminder to the rest of the league of why he belonged. So far this season, the left-hander has posted a 2.59 ERA across 107.2 innings pitched. He has tallied more than 4.5 strikeouts in 14 of his 18 starts and three consecutive entering today’s matchup. The Padres have shown solid control at the plate, but Sanchez has pitched in attack mode this year and will force this issue. He’ll continue to attack the strike zone at a high rate and tally more than 4.5 strikeouts.
