BRADFORD — The Brockway softball team continued its winning ways on Tuesday, adding another mercy-rule victory to its resume with a 15-2, 5-inning win at Bradford.
The Lady Rovers scored three runs in the first, then added four more in both the second and third innings, and never looked back in securing their 13th victory of the season.
Bailee Carberry was the beneficiary of all that offense and threw four strong innings to get the win in the circle. She allowed two runs, both earned, on five hits while striking out three and walking one. Navayda Smith tossed a scoreless fifth to finish off the win, giving up one hit while recording a strikeout.
Brockway grabbed control of the game with that three-run first, getting RBI singles from Elysabeth Myers, Josie Orinko and Ella Reitz in the inning.
Bradford got a run back in the bottom of the first, but the Lady Rovers responded with a four-run second.
Sierra Fremer and Sophia Schmader started that rally with singles to open the inning. Payton Craft then scored a run on a groundout, while Rheanna Spinda did the same on a fielder’s choice. Myers then capped the frame with a two-run homer to center to make it 7-1.
The Lady Owls again pushed a run across in the bottom half of the inning only to see Brockway put up another 4-spot in the third.
Myers and Meeca Smith each had RBI singles in that fourth ti help push the lead out to 11-2.
The Lady Rovers finished off the win with a third four-run inning, this one in the fifth to invoke the 10-run mercy rule.
Smith had a RBI single in the fifth, and Reitz a two-run triple. Fremer capped the scoring with a RBI groundout.
Myers led the Brockway attack, going 3-for-4 with the homer, four RBIs and four runs scored. Smith and Reitz each went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Schmader was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Orinko added a 2-for-3 day, knocking in a run and scoring three times.
Brockway (13-2) hosts Elk County Catholic today.

ST. MARYS — Elk County Catholic scored early and often in a 17-2, 3-inning rout of visiting Smethport Tuesday at Benzinger Park.
The Lady Crusaders exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the first, then added on a run in the second before scoring eight more times in the third to win in walk-off fashion via the 15-run mercy rule.
Alexa Uhl fueled the ECC attack, going 3-for-4 with a homer, five RBIs and two runs scored. Anna Geci and Sofia Elmquist each went 2-for-2 with a RBI and run scored, while Jenna Schatz had a hit and three RBIs. Margaret Toncich knocked in a pair of runs.
All that offense benefitted Mya Pistner, who tossed all three innings to get the win in the circle. She allowed two runs, both earned, on one hit while striking out two and walking three.
Elk County, now 4-10, travels to Brockway today.
Johnsonburg 23,
Kane 8, 5 innings
KANE — Johnsonburg broke our the bats Tuesday at Kane as the Ramettes racked up 22 hits in five innings in a 23-8 mercy-rule victory against the host Lady Wolves.
Johnsonburg scored five times in the first and pushed at least two runs across the plate in every inning. The Ramettes used a seven-run third to grab control of the game at 14-4 and proceeded to score five more runs in the fourth and four in the fifth to come away with the lopsided victory to improve to 4-9.
Natalie Dunworth led the Ramette attack, finishing the day 4-for-6 with two doubles, a homer, four RBIs and four runs scored. Meghan Tettis also went deep for Johnsonburg as part of a 3-for-4 that saw her hit two doubles while also collecting four RBIs and score four times.
Dana Beimel enjoyed a 4-for-4 day herself, smacking a pair of doubles to go along with a RBI and two runs.
Izzi Lawrie added three hits, including a double and triple, and two RBIs, while Josie Gerber and Aliza Jackson each had two hits, including a double. Jackson drove in three runs and Gerber two.
The Ramettes are back in action today against DuBois Central Catholic at Heindl Field.
