KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Nate Snead ended Tennessee’s greatest MLB Draft day in program history with a bang.
The Los Angeles Angels made Snead the final pick of the first day of the 2025 MLB Draft, selecting the Tennessee reliever 105th overall.
Snead was an All-Region performer as a Sophomore in 2024 and was a preseason All-American ahead of the 2025 season. Snead’s 11 career saves are among the most in Tennessee history.
The Wisconsin native joins an Angels organization that features fellow flamethrower Ben Joyce and his former Tennessee teammate Christian Moore.
Snead was Tennessee’s 8th pick in the first three rounds of the MLB Draft.
