The Dodgers on Sunday night took right-hander Cam Leiter of Florida State with their second-round pick of the 2025 MLB Draft, the 65th overall selection.
Leiter had a 4.63 ERA and 35.2-percent strikeout rate in seven starts with Florida State in 2024, but hasn’t pitched since after a shoulder injury that eventually required surgery.
I want to thank FSU Athletics and TMI Sports for the collaboration! Thank you Dr. Meister for the clean out! I cherish every moment I get to put on the Seminole uniform and play in front of the best fans in college baseball. Looking forward to being back on the mound soon! pic.twitter.com/0O8KixpMyl

Leiter might seem familiar, since he was brought up as a potential Dodgers selection in a Baseball America staff draft last week.
The right-hander was ranked the 85th-best prospect in the draft by Baseball America, with this write-up:
When healthy, Leiter has shown one of the more explosive pitch mixes in the class. His 94-96 mph fastball has touched 99 with strong running and riding life through the zone that led to a 30% miss rate in 2024. He has two breaking balls that flash plus potential. He favors a 78-82 mph hammer breaking ball with great spin and downward biting action, while his high-spin, high-80s power slider also looks like a consistent swing-and-miss offering. The slider will often blend into more of a cutter look at the top of its velocity band. Leiter also mixes an upper-80s changeup that becomes a bigger piece of his mix when facing lefthanded hitters.
Leiter is the nephew of Al Leiter and Mark Leiter, and cousins of current major league pitchers Jack Leiter and Mark Leiter, Jr.
Leiter was rated 106th by ESPN, and ranked 114th at MLB Pipeline.
The recommended slot value for the 65th overall pick is $1,349,100.
