Another Penn State pitcher is off the draft board.

Reliever Chase Renner was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 13th round, becoming the fourth Nittany Lion to be selected in the 2025 MLB Draft.

The flame-throwing right hander was one of the high-leverage relievers in the Nittany Lions’ bullpen.

Renner returned to the mound after missing nearly two years with an injury.

The Alburtis, Pennsylvania, native notched four saves across 21.2 innings in his redshirt junior season

Despite ranking outside of MLB.com’s top 250 prospects, Renner’s high-octane fastball mixed with a drop in velocity on his offspeed creates uncertainty for opposing batters.

Renner held a 2.91 ERA out of the bullpen and held velocity to hold up in the bullpen in the professional system.

The reliever has the decision to sign with Miami or return to Penn State for his redshirt senior season.
