NORWALK — The Fort Madison High School softball season ended Saturday when the Norwalk Warriors scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning for the 8-0 Class 4A Region 3 semifinal win.

The Bloodhounds were unable to get a hit in four innings against Leah Brewer or one inning against Leah Crick. No Bloodhound reached base in the game as neither pitcher issued a walk and the Warriors did not have an error.

Fort Madison also used two pitchers. Luisa Darnell started and threw the first two innings without an earned run. Emma Snaadt threw two and two-thirds innings and gave up one earned run.

Darnell gave up four hits and Snaadt gave up three, hit a batter and walked one.

Fort Madison had seven errors in the game.

The Bloodhounds finish with a 13-15 record in Kyle Doherty’s first year as head coach.

Norwalk advances to play Oskaloosa (15-20) a 5-3 winner over Winterset.
