Oregon’s Grayson Grinsell is headed to the Detroit Tigers organization.

The Ducks’ ace was selected by the Tigers in the sixth round with the No. 189 overall pick of the MLB draft on Monday.

The pick has a slotted value of $333,500, according to MLB.com.

Grinsell (9-3, 3.01 ERA) was a third-team All-American selection by NCBWA, Perfect Game and ABCA/Rawlings.

He had 101 strikeouts in 98 2/3 innings while holding opposing hitters to a .205 average this season. In Big Ten games, the left-hander led the conference in wins (seven), ERA (1.36), batting average against (.167) and WHIP (0.86) and was second in strikeouts (70).

The third current Oregon player to be drafted this year, Grinsell joins Mason Neville and Jason Reitz. Grinsell is the first UO player drafted by the Tigers since Drew Gagnier in 2010.
