On Saturday, the Roswell Invaders hosted the Alpine Cowboys for the final matchup of a three-game series.

The Invaders entered this game with an 8-31 record, while the Cowboys had a 20-18-1 record. In the first two games of the series, which took place on Thursday and Friday, the Invaders won both matchups with tallies of 7-3 and 8-2.

In this matchup, both teams were on an even footing. If one team scored a run, the other team answered. This would lead to the game being tied 5-5 by the bottom of the ninth inning. The Invaders were up to bat, and they scored the game-winning run after a wild pitch from Cowboys pitcher Jean Reyes (33) that allowed Sloan Laird (17) to cross home plate to seal the 6-5 win and a three-game sweep. 

As a team, the Invaders had 11 total hits and were walked three times. Laird (33) and Ty Murray (8) both had the most hits on the team with four each. On defense, the invaders committed one error. Tyler Rich (14) was the starting pitcher, throwing for 5.2 innings, struck out three batters and walked two, allowing four hits and two runs. Phillip Sanders (24) and Nester Perela (23) combined to finish the game, with Perela being the winning pitcher.

The Cowboys had seven hits and were walked eight times. James Prockish (27) led the team with two hits. On defense, the Cowboys committed two errors. Maddux Hoaglund (64) was their starting pitcher, and he pitched 6.1 innings, struck out 11 batters and walked two. Hoaglund allowed eight hits and five runs. Three other pitchers combined to finish the game, with Reyes (33) being marked as the losing pitcher.

The Invaders next home game is tonight at 6:30 p.m. against the Santa Fe Fuego.
