What a night and incredible honor for the lone Oriole at the 2025 MLB All-Star game in Ryan O’Hearn.
O’Hearn, in his eighth MLB season, was a first-time All-Star. O’Hearn starting for the American League and batting sixth as the designated hitter.
He went 0-for-2 in his first All-Star appearance. O’Hearn’s first at-bat was a strikeout looking after nearly hitting a double down the right field line that was foul the pitch prior. O’Hearn left the the game after his final at-bat, a grounder to the mound, in the fourth with the NL leading 2-0.
The first three batters for the National League got on base in the first off Detriot’s ace and starting pitcher Tarik Skubal. He gave up a two-run double to Arizona’s Ketel Marte to make it 2-0 NL early.
