Mariners host Astros tonight

Seattle’s back home in T-Mobile Park tonight to begin the first of 17-games in 17-days with a three-game home stand against division-leading Houston. As we mentioned yesterday, the Astros are starting Brandon Walter, who is 1-and-2 with a 4.81-ERA. Seattle finally picked its starter as Luis Castillo, who is 6-and-5 with a 3.41 ERA. First pitch on ROOT Sports Northwest is at 7:10 tonight.

American League West Standings and Schedule 07-18-25

The Astros come into tonight’s first of three games in Seattle with a 56-and-40 record. The Mariners trail by 5-games at 51-and-45. Texas is 3-and-a-half games behind Seattle in third place at 48-and-49. The Angels, who begin the second half in Philadelphia today, are 1-and-a-half back of the Rangers at 47-and-49. The Athletics trail the division by 16-games and are in Cleveland today. Texas is hosting Detroit.
