ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) – The Atlanta Braves opened the second half of the regular season Friday at Truist Park against the New York Yankees, the first of a three-game series. The game is the 10th game broadcast live on Gray Media.
The Braves have been all over the Yankees in this one, leading 7-0 through 5 1/2 innings. And as advertised, Ronald Acuña Jr. has brought a certain level of energy with his performance through four innings tonight: Double, triple and an incredible throw from right field to gun down Yankees infielder Jorbit Vivas for a double play. He was trying to advance to third base on a flyout.
Atlanta enters the second half of the season 12.5 games under .500 and fourth place in the NL East. The Yankees are 53-43 and trail just the Toronto Blue Jays by two games in the AL East.
