Zach Eflin and the Baltimore Orioles take on Tyler Anderson and the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday afternoon in the series finale.

The Los Angeles Angels will host the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon at Angel Stadium as the teams close out their series. The series is all tied up at one game apiece, as the Orioles earned a 4-1 victory on Friday night and the Angels earned a 5-2 victory on Saturday night. The Orioles will give Sunday’s start to Zach Eflin in the hopes that he can pick up the win in the rubber match with a strong performance. The Orioles are currently in last place in the American League East with a record of 14-24 and trail the division-leading Yankees by 7.5 games. Ryan Mountcastle put the Orioles on the board on Saturday night with an RBI double in the sixth inning. Ramón Laureano followed with a solo shot in the ninth, but with the Orioles already trailing 5-1, it wasn’t enough to close the distance.

The Angels are also in last place in their division at 16-22 on the season and trail the Seattle Mariners by six games in the American League West. The team saw some solid offense in Saturday night’s win. The Angels were able to jump out to a 6-0 lead before the Orioles were able to get on the board. Yoán Moncada opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with an RBI single and Taylor Ward followed with a sac fly to make it a 2-0 game. In the bottom of the fourth, Jo Adell hit his fifth home run of the year to extend the lead. Matthew Lugo added another run with an RBI triple in the fourth. Lugo is the first Angel to triple for his first MLB hit since David Fletcher in 2018. Luis Rengifo added the final run to the scoreboard in the fifth with an RBI groundout.

Right-handed pitcher Zach Eflin will get the start on the mound for the Orioles on Sunday. He enters the game with a record of 2-1 and an ERA of 3.00. Tyler Anderson will be atop the bump for the Angels with a record of 2-0 and an ERA of 2.68.
