After a 9-5 loss Monday, the Giants snapped a 4-game post-All-Star break skid with a dominant 9-0 win over the Braves Tuesday night. San Francisco cashed as a +106 road underdog with the total of 9 pushing. Four pitchers combined for the shutout, led by starter Landen Roupp’s 5 scoreless innings. DH Wilmer Flores had a 3-run homer and drove in 4 runs, while 2B Casey Schmitt added a solo blast.

Braves starter Davis Daniel struggled (5 IP, 5 ER, 7 H, 4 BB, 3 K, HR) in Tuesday’s loss. Atlanta collected 8 hits, led by 1B Matt Olson who went 3-for-5, but left 12 runners on base.

I like the Braves to bounce back at home in the series finale on Wednesday afternoon, but I’ll take the better odds on the run line.

BET BRAVES -1.5 (+125).

The Braves have been far stronger at home this season, posting a 26-25 record at Truist Park compared to just 18-31 on the road. But Wednesday’s matchup is less about Atlanta’s home success and more about Verlander’s continued struggles on the mound.

While Verlander’s Hall of Fame résumé is unquestioned, his current form is tough to watch. He has yet to record a win this season and carries a bloated ERA. Over his last 3 starts, he’s allowed 11 earned runs and 21 hits in just 11 2/3 innings.

The Giants haven’t been much better, going 25-29 on the road with a .230 team average away from Oracle Park. Meanwhile, Strider hasn’t been dominant, but he’s been far more reliable. In his last home outing, he tossed 6 shutout innings against the Yankees, fanning 8.

Despite San Francisco’s success against Atlanta this season, back the Braves to close out the series with a win on Wednesday afternoon.

BET OVER 8.5 (-110).

Verlander’s struggles continue to be a major concern, I’ve got him allowing another 4-6 runs which gets us more than halfway to the Over. The Over is 3-0-1 in the Giants’ last 4 games and 7-2-1 in the Braves’ last 10. With both teams trending that way, the Over is the smart play Wednesday.
