Little League All-Star teams will play in Districts, States, Regionals and then, if they’re lucky enough to make it, the World Series, which puts the best teams from the United States and the world in Williamsport, Pennsylvania for a two-week tournament.

Unfortunately, one Little League team in New Jersey is facing a tough situation. A star player on the Haddonfield (NJ) Little League Team, the reigning state champions, has been suspended heading into the state championship game, set for later this week.

Fans are understandably outraged.
“Marco Rocco, a star player on Haddonfield (NJ) Little League Team — the reigning state champs — was suspended for his bat flip ahead of Thursday’s state championship game. His father is seeking an emergency temporary restraining order that will allow him to play. Above is announcer Todd Frazier’s Little League bat flip. Below is Marco’s,” he shared.

Bat flips are becoming more and more common. As long as you’re not completely taunting an opposing player in extremely disrespectful fashion, you should be allowed to celebrate as you want.
Sportsmanship is important, of course, but you don’t want to take the fun away from the game, either.
Hopefully, the league will reverse course on the suspension decision ahead of the state championship game on Thursday.
Time is of the essence, as we’re just days away from the game.
