The San Diego Padres have signed all of their 2025 drafted players, as well as eleven undrafted free agents that they contacted after the completion of the draft.

First round pick, Kruz Schoolcraft, reportedly signed for the expected slot value of $3,606,600. After selecting Schoolcraft the organization went fairly heavy into college level players in order to save most of their pool money to sign the two high school catchers (Ty Harvey, Truitt Madonna) they were hoping to lure away from their intended college committments.

Their third round pick, college CF Ryan Wideman, has a slot estimate of $773,000. The team did not release specifics on signing amounts for their players. All slot values and an explanation for how they are decided is found here.

Their draft consisted of nineteen players in the 20 rounds over the two days of the draft and the eleven non-drafted signees. The non-drafted free agents were all college level players and include C Jake Bold, CF Trey Lott, CF Conner Westenburg and two shortstops (Bradley Frye and Dawson Willis). There were also six pitchers signed: RHP’s Tyler Dietz, Nick Falter, Brandon Langley, Charlie Walker and Cameron Nohos and LHP Cal Riehl.

The team beat the signing deadline of Monday, July 28 with their thirty total players for a bonus pool of $6,569,100. It is the third lowest signing pool in baseball, with the Mets and Yankees being the teams with lower pools.

The Padres lost pool money, and a second round pick, with the signing of Nick Pivetta after he had been given a qualifying offer by the Boston Red Sox.

Some of these players will see action relatively quickly and those will be noted in the minor league updates. That list usually includes the upper level college draftees. There will also be a showing in the Fall League group of players that begins after the minor league season ends.
