Zach Thompson dives into Tuesday night’s featured MLB DFS slate on DraftKings to find undervalued players to put in your lineups.

For the second straight day, Major League Baseball has a beautiful 12-game schedule to fill the summer night with MLB DFS fantasy baseball on DraftKings. With a massive 24-team player pool, options are plentiful from all across the salary spectrum. If you’re spending up on some superstars, you may need to balance out your spending with some lower-cost bargain values. If you’re in the market for some cheaper plays, check out these top three MLB DFS value picks, who each bring high upside as bargains.

Especially at this time of year, be sure to double-check the weather and starting lineups before first pitch. Especially for MLB DFS value picks, the environment, matchup, and batting order slot greatly impact the upside of these bargain plays. The weather looks mostly cooperative this Tuesday without much rain in the forecast anywhere the MLB has outdoor games.

Check out the full range of MLB coverage from the team at DraftKings Network, since these bargains are just one piece of the MLB DFS picture to consider.

SP Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Angels, $7,700

Corbin’s comeback season for the Rangers has been pretty impressive, and he’s the best bargain option on the mound this Tuesday. The 36-year-old lefty has gone 6-7 in his 19 starts with a 3.78 ERA and 4.03 FIP. It’s a huge improvement from the last four seasons with the Nats, during which he had an ERA over 5.00 in each season and went 31-63 with a 5.71 ERA.

In his Renaissance tour in Arlington, Corbin hasn’t exactly dominated or gone deep into games, but he has been consistently turning in solid outings. He has gone at least five innings in 18 straight starts and has allowed three or fewer runs in each of his last five outings. He also has at least six strikeouts in five of his last six outings.

Corbin earned exactly 21.75 fantasy points in each of his last two starts and has over 14 fantasy points in each of his last five starts, including a win against the Angels in Anaheim. He’ll be back in that same matchup and spot on Tuesday, and he should be a solid SP2 available from under $8,000, leaving you more space to build the rest of a strong lineup.

1B Andrew Vaughn, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs, $2,800

Vaughn continues to be an outstanding value for the Brewers, and I’m going back to the well for a second straight day in my value picks after he delivered a home run and 18 fantasy points in Monday’s bargain picks.

Since joining the Brewers in a midseason trade from the White Sox, Vaughn has hit a sparkling .341 (15-for-44) in 14 games. He has four doubles, four homers, a .467 wOBA, and an average of 10.1 fantasy points per game.

Vaugh has posted double-digit fantasy points in three straight games and will be in a good matchup at home against former Brewer Colin Rea ($7,300), who has been solid overall for Chicago but is coming off a shaky outing against the Royals, who reached him for six runs on six hits in five innings his last time out.

If you decide to spend up in other spots and can go cheap at 1B, Vaughn brings an excellent ceiling with plenty of power and consistent production from under $3,000.

OF Jordan Walker, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Miami Marlins, $2,500

Walker has been another recurring character in my MLB DFS bargain picks from the past few weeks, since he has looked very strong since returning from a bout with appendicitis. He also made some swing adjustments during his comeback, and he has been making great contact since his return at the All-Star break.

In his last 10 games, Walker has averaged 7.0 fantasy points per game by going 12-for-35 (.343) with six doubles, four walks, four RBI and three runs scored. He has a 52% hard-hit rate during that time and an average exit velocity of 93.4 miles per hour, and those metrics indicate that he could have actually had much better results based on the quality of contact. He has exactly seven fantasy points in three straight games and in four of his last five.

At such a cheap salary, getting seven fantasy points represents a solid return on investment, and he could be lined up for even better results on Tuesday night as he takes on Sandy Alcantara ($7,500) and the Marlins. Alcantara looked good against the Padres in his last start, but still sports an ominous 6.66 ERA and 4.47 FIP on the season. Righties like Walker have hit .292 with a .335 wOBA against him this season.

There’s a little prospect fatigue with Walker since he has gotten hot and cooled back off in the past, but I think the 23-year-old outfielder still comes loaded with potential and has a high ceiling in this matchup as a bargain play Tuesday night.
