The Padres went big-game hunting again.

San Diego shockingly acquired 100-mph flamethrower Mason Miller from the A’s on Thursday in a massive move ahead of the MLB trade deadline, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.

San Diego is also receiving former Yankee lefty JP Sears, while the A’s are acquiring four players, including the No. 3 prospect in the sport in touted shortstop Leo De Vries.

The Post’s Joel Sherman mentioned Wednesday how Miller, who is under control through 2028, represented one of the most intriguing options available at the deadline.

There were questions about whether the A’s would pull the trigger, though, but closers are bringing in massive hauls this deadline and they joined in on the fun.

Padres president of baseball operations A.J. Preller is perhaps the most aggressive executive in baseball and he continued that trend with this trade, adding a massive piece to an already formidable Padres bullpen that shut down the Mets in a three-game sweep that wrapped up Wednesday.

Miller, 26, gives the Padres a dominant righty who can tally strikeouts with the best of them.

He is known for his electric four-seam fastball which averages an MLB-best 101.1 mph, per Baseball Savant, and he hit 104.1 mph earlier this year.

Miller has struck out 201 batters in 136 2/3 career innings, including 59 in 38 1/3 innings this year. He’s 3-6 with a 3.76 ERA sand 20 saves this season.

He made his first All-Star team last season and finished fourth in the Rookie of the Year voting while tallying 28 saves and accumulating 104 strikeouts in 65 innings.

The trade situation intensified Wednesday night when the A’s held him out of a save situation in the ninth inning of their 5-4 win over the Mariners.

A’s manager Mark Kotsay did not offer much on the reason for withholding Miller, adding to the intrigue.

“Mason was unavailable tonight and that’s all I can say,” Kotsay said.

Sherman reported the A’s wanted a top-25 prospect and they received one in De Vries, with three other pitchers included in the package, per ESPN.

De Vries is an 18-year-old who owns a .767 OPS in Class-A, while the other three prospects are righty pitchers Braden Nett, Henry Báez and Eduarniel Nuñez, per ESPN.

“A switch-hitter, De Vries already shows an exquisite knowledge of the zone and will take his walks like he’s a player many years older,” MLB.com said in its writeup.

The Padres could still be active since they have been rumored to potentially move starter Dylan Cease and closer Robert Suarez, with Heyman noting they’re also in the mix for Steven Kwan.

Heyman added that it’s not a given Cease and Suarez will be traded following this acquisition.

Sears, who is 7-9 with a 4.95 ERA, provides insurance depth and could possibly slot into the five should the Padres opt to move Cease.
