The Seattle Mariners come into game three against the Texas Rangers on the heels of a vibes-rocketing win, one that somehow surpassed the similarly cheerful win just the day before. On the bump for the M’s today is RHP Luis Castillo, who over his last six starts has a 1.96 ERA, having given up only 8 ER over 36.2 IP, and racking up 36 strikeouts. Slotting into the Rangers rotation reshuffle will be their trade deadline addition of Merrill Kelly, who over his last six has a 2.78 ERA, 11 ER over 35.2 IP, and racked up 28 strikeouts. La Piedra may have the edge on Kelly in the stats there, but the margins are thin enough to make for an interesting match-up that may rely more on offensive showings in the later innings.
Lineups:
The (looking very good lately) lineup only comes with the expected changes of a day game after a night game. Mitch Garver slots into the catcher role, and Raleigh doesn’t move in the batting order but moves to the DH spot, giving Polanco a rest day. Canzone gets the rep in right field, and moves up to the six-hole.

@Mariners
The most obvious change to the Rangers’ lineup is the lack of Evan Carter (see news section below).

Captain’s Log:
Dan Wilson on J.P.’s walkoff:
I’ve had so many people already tell me that they’ve watched replays of it over and over again from all the different camera angles that we have because they want to see the bench and how they reacted. It was immediately, guys over the rail, and it was just an awesome feeling to see that guy do that in that moment. That’s why he’s the leader, he has these guys and he carries so much for all of us.”
News:
The Rangers announced pregame they are putting OF Evan Carter on the IL with back spasms. OF Alejandro Osuna has been recalled to take his place.
Rangers transactions for Saturday:
-OF Alejandro Osuna recalled from Round Rock (AAA).
-OF Evan Carter placed on 10-day Injured List.
-1B Jake Burger sent to Frisco (AA) on injury rehab assignment.
