The Milwaukee Brewers take their National League-best record to the nation’s capital for a weekend series against the Washington Nationals Aug. 1-3 at Nationals Park.
The Brewers, who are 64-44, will be without budding star outfielder Jackson Chourio, who’s headed to the injured list after sustaining a right hamstring injury against the Chicago Cubs on July 29.
General manager Matt Arnold added to the Brewers roster ahead of the trade deadline, acquiring catcher Danny Jansen from the Tampa Bay Rays on July 28, and trading for pitcher Shelby Miller from Arizona and outfielder Brandon Lockridge from San Diego on July 31.
The Brewers and Nationals have a recent history as Milwaukee finished off a perfect homestand with a sweep of Washington just before the all-star break.
