Craig T. Nelson, Charlie Berens talk ‘Green and Gold’ at Lambeau Field

Wisconsin farming, family and the Green Bay Packers — actors Craig T. Nelson and Charlie Berens talk about “Green and Gold” during a promotional event for the movie at Lambeau Field.

The qualities of the “worst friend to go out to eat with.”

Late for no good reason, takes forever to order despite knowing you’re starving — then, makes a million substitutions when he finally does — steals food from your plate and forgets his wallet.

Those were the shenanigans Charlie Berens was up to in one of his latest video skits. And, who was the friend (read as: victim) of Berens’ dining-out faux pas? None other than Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich, adding to the lineup of sports stars the Wisconsin comedian has teamed up with recently.

The video starts with Yelich posted up to the bar of J. Leinenkugel’s Barrel Yard at American Family Field, awaiting his buddy’s arrival.

This is far from the first time the power trio of Berens, Yelich and Leinenkugel’s — often, two of the three — have worked together. A Leinie’s shoot is actually where Berens and Yelich met a few years back.

“Christian! Sorry I’m late. Someone stole my car,” Berens said as he walked into the Barrel Yard and took a seat.

OK, valid.

But then, Berens revealed that didn’t happen in real life, but rather, the video game “Grand Theft Auto.”

Not valid.

“I’m starving,” Yelich said. “Can we order?”

Berens proceeded to ask the bartender — portrayed by Katie Leinenkugel — for not one, not two, not three, but four beer samples. And, he didn’t just drink them. He sipped, wafted and assessed their foam.

“Can we please order? I’m starving,” Yelich doubled down.

“OK … Someone’s impatient,” Berens said, giving passive-aggressive.

While Yelich ordered the Euchre Burger with fries and a Leinie’s Barrelman, Berens ordered the Northwoods Salad with so many substitutions, it eventually became a Euchre Burger.

When Berens requested a side salad instead of fries, Yelich reminded him that he always does that, then proceeds to eat all of Yeli’s fries. Berens conveniently didn’t recall that.

“You’re not eating my fries this time,” Yelich said.

“I got a softball game tonight. I can’t be putting any of that into my body. This is a temple,” Berens said, gesturing to his physique.

When the food came out, Yelich asked Leinenkugel for a side of ranch.

Berens thought that was “a little high-maintnance” of Yelich. As the comedian apologized to the bartender on his friend’s behalf, he swiped a handful of fries off of Yelich’s plate … then, proceeded to also ask for a side of ranch for himself.

When the check came, Berens slid it right on over to Yelich as he told the bartender how wonderful the meal was.

“My wallet was in my car,” Berens said.

“In Grand Theft Auto?” Yelich snapped back.

“Yeah,” Berens replied as he reached for Yeli’s beer and asked if he was going to finish it.
