The Pittsburgh Pirates claimed right-handed pitcher Jack Little off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers and assigned him to Triple-A Indianapolis. Little had been designated for assignment on Aug. 4.

The 27-year-old made two relief appearances with Los Angeles this season. He made his big-league debut on June 19 against the San Diego Padres, allowing two runs in two innings. He also tossed a scoreless inning of relief in his only other outing with the Dodgers on July 5 vs. the Houston Astros.

Little totaled 36 appearances on the year with Triple-A Oklahoma City and went 5-4 with a 4.64 ERA and a Pacific Coast League-leading 13 saves. He struck out 39 and walked 19 in 42.2 innings.

In parts of five seasons in the Dodgers’ organization, Little went 11-9 with a 4.89 ERA and 172 strikeouts in 171 innings across 138 appearances.

A native of Louisville, Little was selected by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2019 draft out of Stanford University.

There are now 39 players on Pittsburgh’s 40-man roster.
