Texas State baseball landed a commitment Wednesday from junior college shortstop Brady Boles. A standout for Panola College in Carthage, Boles recorded a .322 batting average, a .448 on-base percentage and a .400 slugging percentage in 2025.

“Would like to thank God, my parents and the Texas State coaches for giving me this opportunity to go succeed at the next level,” Boles said in an announcement on social media.

The Bobcats finished the 2025 season with a 27-31 overall record, going 14-16 in conference. Some of the blame for that record can be assigned to offensive issues, such as their .246 BA and .349 OBP were second-to-last and fourth-to-last in the Sun Belt, respectively.

Boles attended Frenship High School in Wolfforth, a town in Lubbock County, and graduated in 2024. He walked more than he struck out (39 to 21) at Panola, recording 58 hits in 180 at-bats. He’ll have to prove himself against Division I competition, but Boles could be a reliable base-getter for Texas State despite his lack of slugging, as he only recorded 12 extra-base hits.

Boles joins a Texas State 2026 signee class that includes nine freshmen and three other JUCO transfers. The list consists of Blake Beheler, Alec Beversdorf, Wade Cooper, Victor Coronado, Jackson Cotton, Ryder McDaniel, Nolan Moore, Clayton Namken, Michael Peavy, Ty Powell, Cade Smith and Titan Targac.
