CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Former No. 1 overall pick Travis Bazzana is one step closer to joining the major league club.
The Guardians promoted Bazzana from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus, in addition to several other prospects who moved up a level on Sunday.
The Cleveland Guardians Player Development System has announced that the following players have been promoted from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus:
– Travis Bazzana
– Tommy Mace
– Ross Carver
– Cooper Ingle#GuardsBall

The second baseman returned to action on July 18 after missing nearly two months with an internal right oblique strain.
Since his return, Bazzana slashed .265/.367/.412 with seven doubles, one home run, six RBIs, 10 walks and 16 strikeouts in his last 18 games.
Taking a look at the Guardians’ other top prospects, catcher Cooper Ingle (No. 6) was promoted from Akron to Columbus. First baseman/outfielder Ralphy Velazquez (No. 9) was promoted from High-A Lake County to Akron.
