Garion Thorne gives his top studs and value plays for tonight’s 12-game featured fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings.

We’ve got a massive 12-game MLB DFS slate tonight on DraftKings that’s headlined by Paul Skenes ($11,000) toeing the rubber against baseball’s best team in Milwaukee. If that sounds like something you might be interested in — keep reading.

Let’s dive in and find the best picks for tonight’s premium action on the diamond.

PITCHER

Stud

Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates, $10,000 – While the Pirates have actually been swinging the bats decently in recent weeks — even getting Skenes a couple wins — this remains one of the most underwhelming lineups in all of baseball. For 2025 as a whole, Pittsburgh ranks dead-last in MLB in wOBA against RHPs (.291). The team also sits 29th in wRC+ within the split (83). As such, I’d look for Milwaukee’s ace to put together a dominating performance this evening. Since the beginning of June, Peralta sports a 3.29 ERA and a 27.8% strikeout rate. The 29-year-old isn’t quite back at the level we once saw in 2021, but Peralta certainly carries a ton of upside each and every time he takes the mound.

Value

Kyle Freeland, Colorado Rockies at St. Louis Cardinals, $5,000 – I’ll fully admit that this is risky. However, in a GPP where Emmet Sheehan ($7,700) is surely going to be one of the most-rostered players on the slate, I’ll suggest a zag with my value pitcher pick. It’s important to first remember that Freeland’s been a perfectly serviceable arm away from Coors this season, even pitching to a 3.96 xFIP within the split. It’s also crucial to know that the Cardinals are in a team-wide slump at the moment. Across the past two weeks, St. Louis combines MLB’s lowest ISO (.090) with its second-lowest wRC+ (78). Nolan Arenado (shoulder) is on the IL. Brendan Donovan ($3,900; groin) and Lars Nootbar ($3,800; knee) are banged up. This simply isn’t a scary lineup at the moment.

INFIELD

Stud

Bobby Witt Jr., Kansas City Royals vs. Washington Nationals, $6,000 – While Witt Jr. is having a slightly down season following his herculean efforts in 2024, the man is still hitting .285 with a .207 ISO and 30 stolen bases. The oddest part of Witt’s 2025 campaign? He’s yet to hit a home run off a lefty. I think that changes tonight in a matchup with Mitchell Parker ($5,700). Not only is Witt “due” — he possesses a team-best .493 expected slugging percentage versus LHPs — but Parker has been absolutely awful for Washington. To wit, the southpaw enters play on Tuesday sporting first percentile marks in opponent average exit velocity (92.1) and opponent hard hit rate (51.0%). Woof. It’s also not like the Nationals trade-depleted bullpen is all that much of a deterrent for DFS.

Stud

Addison Barger, Toronto Blue Jays vs. Chicago Cubs, $4,600 – There’s a cheaper third baseman that I like for DFS in this same game, but Barger’s outfield eligibility gives prospective owners some options. The 25-year-old hasn’t cooled down since his breakout in May, as Barger still possesses a 95th percentile hard hit rate (53.7%) and a 94th percentile average exit velocity (93.1). That’s translated into a 135 wRC+ against RHPs in 2025. Ben Brown ($7,300) is right-handed. Ben Brown also has a 6.04 ERA and is conceding 2.61 home runs per nine to opposing LHBs. I’m not allowed to use emojis in article, but… [insert eyeballs emoji here].

Value

Matt Shaw, Chicago Cubs at Toronto Blue Jays, $3,200 – Shaw just might be the best value option on the slate. Before we even get into the matchup with Jose Berrios ($7,500), let’s just take a second to appreciate how red-hot Shaw has been over the last 30 days. The man is slashing .323/.344/.758 with seven home runs and a .435 ISO in 64 plate appearances. He’s been, without question, the best bat in the Cubs’ lineup within that stretch, and yet he’s only slightly more expensive than $3,000 on DraftKings. What a gift. Berrios’ presence is important, too. The veteran RHP owns a 5.71 ERA since the beginning of July and he’s surrendering 1.84 home runs per nine to opposing RHBs for the season as a whole.

OUTFIELD

Stud

Cody Bellinger, New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins, $5,400 – I think you’re going to need some exposure to the Yankees on Tuesday. While no Twins’ starter has been announced as of yet, it’s likely going to end up being a bullpen game for Minnesota, with Thomas Hatch ($4,000) pitching in the bulk role. If the concept of a bullpen game at Yankee Stadium for a club that just traded away its five best relievers sounds hellish to you — you’d be right! Expect New York to score early and often in this one and for Bellinger to be in the middle of it all. The former NL MVP is slashing .292/.339/.529 with a 139 wRC+ since the beginning of May.

Value

Wyatt Langford, Texas Rangers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks, $3,800 – It hasn’t all come together for Langford like many hoped it would in 2025, yet the former fourth-overall pick is still well on his way to a 20/20 campaign with an 84th percentile barrel rate (13.4%) in his back pocket. It’s not bad for a guy who won’t turn 24-years-old until November. As it pertains to this evening, Langford and the Rangers as a whole are in a nice spot against Anthony DeSclafani ($6,000), who is really only in Arizona’s rotation due to the team trading Merrill Kelly at the deadline. In his three starts this season, DeSclafani has registered a 6.75 ERA and he’s conceded a .389 opponent wOBA.
