The Cleveland Guardians got Waldrepped last night as old Hurston made them his next victim.
I am sure that MLB teams will eventually solve Waldrep enough that he won’t win the Cy Young every year, but his three debut starts this season have been sensational and his stuff looks great. The Guardians had some balls that were well-struck, but everything died at the warning track. Nick has your recap here.

Joey Cantillo was wild but solid. Carlos Hernandez has great Stuff but just gets hit. You could definitely tell the effects of the loss of Clase in Hernandez getting the top of the 9th with a one-run lead.
Time to bounce back today and find a way to take this series. They’ll need Slade Cecconi and David Fry to be at their best.
Hey, I took my oldest (six years old) and he had a great time, so I cannot complain. Lots of people, lots of Guardians gear, lots of fun. There was one team shop that had no air conditioning, though, and that seems insane on a night like last night.
Nicole will have your minor league recap, but John Means looked good in Lake County, throwing 2 and 2/3rds scoreless, 30 of 38 pitches for strikes. Still want to see Means in the rotation and Cantillo back ij the role of dominant reliever, at least, for now. He has shown he can hang as a starter and I am very glad about that
AROUND MLB:
Rangers and Astros lost, Tigers and Yankees won. Guardians are 1.5 back in the wildcard race and 7.5 back in the division.
