Phillies Sit Nick Castellanos Amid Slump

Castellanos is in the middle of a 1-for-35 slump, but according to manager Rob Thomson, a platoon in right field doesn’t seem imminent.

“Nick’s streaky, so I’m expecting him to get hot at some point. It’s just a matter of when,” Thomson told reporters after Friday’s game.

Castellanos is down to .252/.290/.405 for the season, with 15 home runs and 60 RBI.

Max Kepler starts in his place and will play right field, hitting seventh.
