SHOREWOOD, Wis.— Brewers fans have another tasty reason to celebrate this week. Cloud Red in Shorewood is giving away free burgers on Tuesday, August 19, from 2 to 4 p.m. in honor of the Milwaukee Brewers‘ 12-game win streak.

Marty Joyce, the restaurant’s executive line cook, says the idea was inspired by the site’s history as a George Webb, who also are doing a burger giveaway.

“As luck would have it, 40, 50 years ago, our establishment used to be a George Webb,” Joyce tells WTMJ. ”We actually have some photos of them  doing the free burger giveaway back in 1987. Our boss approached us and was like, ’Hey, did you guys know we used to be at George Webb’s? What you guys think about doing a little burger giveaway?’ And of course, we’re all kind of like, ‘Yeah go for it!’”

The giveaway will feature quarter-pound burgers with buns, pickles, onions, and Cloud Red’s special sauce, as well as veggie patties for those who prefer a plant-based option. Joyce says they hope to cook up to 250 burgers, and they’ll keep them coming as long as they have fans showing up.

“I’ll just keep them going, throw them down, and get them out as fast as we possibly can,” Joyce says. “It doesn’t really matter as long as there’s people there, we’ll just keep cooking them.”

Fans don’t need any voucher, just bring a smile and cheer on the Brewers. Joyce even welcomed Cubs fans to join in.

“Any Cubs fans that wants to come and grab one, by all means, come on down. We got a burger for you,” he said.
