LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — For many families, the journey to the Little League World Series is filled with excitement and sacrifice.
Tiffany Vargas, a devoted mother, made a significant career decision to support her son, Griffin Vargas, and his teammates of the Summerlin South Little League team as they embarked on this incredible journey.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience,” said Vargas. When work demands became overwhelming, she made a bold choice. “I actually resigned from my job to be here,” she said.
Vargas emphasized the importance of being present for her son. “At the end of the day, for me, it was having to be on call for his games and him having my full attention,” she said. “I made that choice for myself to not feed into that corporate America-y expectation and be here and fully present for my son.”
Her decision paid off as her son, Griffin, scored Monday’s winning run. “There are so many emotions and this is the best feeling,” she said.
While a return to the corporate world may be in her future, Vargas is focused on the present and witnessing her son’s dreams come true. “My son’s never going to be 12 again, never in the Little League World Series again, this is it,” she said. “I can honestly say I never missed a Little League game since he was in T-ball and I’m never gonna miss this.”
