Braves 6, Mets 4
BET BRAVES (-110).
The Braves have dominated this season series against the Mets, winning 7 of the 10 matchups so far, including all 3 games played at Truist Park. Atlanta is also playing its best baseball of late, winning 7 of its last 8 games and 5 of its last 6 games at home. Offensively, they’ve been locked in, hitting .270 as a team over the past 15 days.
The Mets, meanwhile, continue to struggle away from Citi Field, holding a 26-36 road record while batting just .236 on the road this season. They’ll send a rookie making only his second career start to the mound. While he looked solid in his debut, asking him to cool off Atlanta’s red-hot lineup in a hostile environment is a tall order.
With the Braves surging both at home and at the plate, they’re the clear choice to open this series with a win.
PASS.
I’m not going to play with the run line when I can get the Braves at solid odds on the moneyline.
BET OVER 8.5 (-118).
The Over looks like the right play in this matchup. It has cashed in 4 of the last 6 meetings between the Mets and Braves, and both teams have been trending that way recently. New York is 6-2-2 to the Over in its last 10 games, while Atlanta is 3-1-1 in its last 5. On top of that, the Over has hit in 2 of Wentz’s last 3 starts. All signs point to another high-scoring game.
