The school year is almost over, but there are still a few teams from the Texas Panhandle competing on the diamond for a trip to the state championship.
Softball has reached the regional finals across the Lone Star State, with teams playing for a spot in the state semifinals this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Three softball teams from the Amarillo-area are still alive, as Clarendon, River Road and Dumas all look to continue their seasons.
A win this week would put the three aforementioned teams on the doorstep of a trip to Austin to play for the UIL title.
High school baseball teams in Texas are entering the regional semifinal round of the playoffs, with multiple squads from the region set trying to punch their ticket to the regional finals this weekend.
