The Boston Red Sox have won seven consecutive games against the New York Yankees, and on Saturday, Aug. 23, they look to make it eight straight as they continue their four-game series at Yankee Stadium in Bronx, N.Y.
The game is scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on NESN, YES Network and MLB Network. Fans looking to watch this MLB game for free can do so using DIRECTV, which offers a free trial, or FuboTV, which also offers a free trial and up to $30 off your first month. The Red Sox are now 70-59 and back in second in the AL East, still five games back of the Toronto Blue Jays. It appears the perfect remedy for Boston’s three-game losing streak was the hated Yankees, who are now half a game behind the Red Sox in the standings at 69-59.
Friday’s matchup was all about Boston starter Brayan Bello, who allowed only three hits over seven, shutout innings. He had five strikeouts and walked only one, improving his record to 10-6 as his team battled to a 1-0 victory.
In the seventh, Connor Wong delivered an RBI double that scored Nathaniel Lowe, who reached on a pinch hit double. While the Red Sox struggled to deliver with runners in scoring position going 1-for-11 and leaving nine on base, the Yankees never even got a runner past first base and only stranded two players all game.
In Saturday’s matchup, Boston will give the ball to Garrett Crochet who looks to become the sole leader in the AL in wins, entering the contest at 13-5 with a 2.43 ERA and a 1.07 WHIP.
