At Chase Field: Gallen gave up three runs in six innings against the Guardians on Aug. 18, extending what has been a decent stretch of starts since the trade deadline came and went. In four starts in August, Gallen has a 3.52 ERA – nothing extraordinary, but a step in the right direction considering his struggles for much of the season. … Gallen has a 3.48 ERA in five career starts against the Reds. He faced them this season and gave up four runs in 6 2/3 innings. He was en route to an impressive start before giving up a single and a homer with two outs in the seventh. … Singer joined the Reds following an off-season trade from the Kansas City Royals. … He has been impressive over his past five starts, logging a 1.85 with seven walks and 30 strikeouts in his past 29 innings. … He has a 2.00 ERA in three starts against the Diamondbacks.
