On Friday, it was revealed that former Baylor Bears pitcher Carson Bailey, who had planned to transfer to Texas A&M, will not be playing in College Station for the 2026 college baseball season. Â
Instead, Bailey will play for McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas, next season. Â
D1 Baseball’s Kendall Rogers stated the reason for the decision is not academically related. Â
Bailey’s 2025 Season with the Baylor Bears – Bailey was one of Baylor’s starting pitchers during the 2025 season. In 12 starts and 53 1/3 total innings of work, he had a 4.89 ERA with 56 strikeouts. He also had allowed an opposing batting average of .239. Â
One of the left-hander’s best games came against the Arizona State Sun Devils on May 3. Despite being credited with the loss, Bailey pitched a season-high six innings and had six strikeouts. He also allowed just two earned runs. Â
Another great game for Bailey came early in the 2025 season on March 23 against the Kansas State Wildcats. In a 19-4 win for the Bears, Bailey threw a season-high seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings of work. Â
The southpaw had three wins credited to his name this season against the UTSA Roadrunners, Loyola Marymount Lions, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Â
Baylor finished the 2025 season with a 33-22 overall record. They were 13-17 in Big 12 play.Â
Bailey’s Original Transfer Portal Commitment to Texas A&M – Bailey had originally committed to Texas A&M after he entered the transfer portal on June 9.Â
According to 64 Analytics, he was a member of the Aggies’ transfer portal class that ranked 12th in the country. Â
Instead, he is heading to McLennan Community College who was a very good JUCO team last season. Â
The Highlanders had a 48-18 overall record, and they were 23-9 in North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play. Â
