said in an update shared on its Facebook account Saturday (August 23).\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Carroll, a Baltimore native, was identified as the "one male victim" found by police "suffering gunshot wounds" last Wednesday (August 20). \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>"The officers and medical personnel provided life saving techniques but the individual succumbed to his injuries," the department said.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Police confirmed that a suspect was arrested in relation to Carroll’s murder, though their identity hasn’t been released publicly.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“One male is in custody and has been charged with the murder of Reginald Carroll. Our thoughts are with the family of Mr. Carroll. Thank you to the community for their patience and understanding,” the department said in its statement.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing. Carroll was referred to as "The Knockout King of Comedy" and amassed a loyal fanbase through touring and social media.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The veteran comic also made appearance on \u003cem>Showtime at the Apollo\u003c/em> and the television series \u003cem>The Parkers\u003c/em>, with the show’s star, Academy Award winner \u003cstrong>Mo’Nique\u003c/strong>, calling him her "brother in comedy" in off her feet inside their New York City apartment.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Reedus, 25, was initially charged with third-degree assault and obstruction of breathing Saturday (August 23) morning, before being arraigned on new charges of reckless physical injury, aggravated harassment and second-degree harassment later that evening, \u003ca href=\”https://nypost.com/2025/08/24/entertainment/mingus-reedus-son-of-walking-dead-star-norman-reedus-supermodel-helena-christensen-arraigned-in-nyc-court/\” target=\”_blank\”>\u003cem>the New York Post\u003c/em>\u003c/a> reports. Prosecutors said the former model-turned-musician violently grabbed the victim, identified as a 33-year-old woman, by the neck with both hands and raised her off the ground while choking her.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The alleged assault continued the next morning when Reedus aggressively kicked the woman in the leg and threw her to the floor, according to prosecutors. Attorney \u003cstrong>Pryia Chaudhry\u003c/strong>, who is representing Reedus, claims that bruising suffered by the victim was unrelated to the incident on Saturday.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>“I think it’s important to understand the context of what happened,” Chaudhry said in court. “He was concerned about her.”\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Chaudhry claims that Reedus ended a five-month relationship between himself and the victim, who allegedly became distressed and took "a number of sleeping pills" in an attempt to commit suicide. Reedus called 911, which resulted in his own arrest as the woman accused him of attacking her.\u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>Chaudhry said the victim, who had since moved out of the former couple’s shared home, was "not afraid" of Reedus and had no intention of pressing charges against him. Supreme Court Justice \u003cstrong>Elizabeth Shamahs\u003c/strong> allowed Reedus to walk free as long as he stayed away from the victim. \u003c/p>\n\n\u003cp>The woman was rushed to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition after Reedus’ arrest.
